Most probably the first planned city of India, Jaipur built by Sawai Jai Singh in the largest city of Rajasthan. Famous for its rich royal heritage, it attracts both national and international tourists every year. Some of the major attraction includes the City Palace, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Vidhan Sabha, Birla Temple, Ranthambore National Park, Nahargarh Fort Jaipur, Statue Circle, Jantar Mantar Jaipur etc. It is also known as the Pink City as the color of the buildings was painted in pink. The city is a fusion of Rajputana, Mughal and European architecture. Jaipur experiences a huge influx of tourists every year only to relive the past era. Of the many connecting medium to the city, the Jaipur airport at Sanganer situated about 7-10 km from Jaipur is the most prominent one. The Sanganer Airport is the only international airport in Rajasthan that is well connected to all the major cities of India. It was incepted as a domestic airport and was later approved as an International airport on 29 December 2005. It let to direct landing of international flights.

Jaipur airport can house 14 A320 aircrafts. The newly built terminal building can support up to 1000 passengers in one go. The airport is beautiful in its own way. The management has been looking after its maintenance to welcome travelers from around the world. The entrance gate is made of sandstone and stones from Dholpur. The elegant Rajasthani paintings give tourists a nut shell idea about the Rajasthani culture and traditions. The terminals have beautiful queue of palm trees on both the sides along with fountains. They also help in cooling down the temperature within the airport premises to quite an extent. Jaipur airport also utilizes wonderful ways of saving on electricity through natural means. The walls of the airport building are transparent and have adjustable shades. The shades help in the passage of light and hence are able to save a considerable amount of electricity.
